First sets of spindles for 2021






Here’s an install from the first. If you don’t want to deal with swapping cores and are local we do in house installs as well.

 

I sold my 3rd gen and bought a GX460. As I plan my GX build, I'd like to get some gusseted spindles. I saw a few pages back someone asked and it's believed that the GX/4R spindles have a 1* different ball joint taper.

@glorifiedwelder Do you happen to have GX/4R spindles in stock or do I have to plan for some down time?

 

got my spindles over yesterday and installed them today, awesome product but I'm having some issues on install. I got my truck put all back together but I'm pretty sure the dust guard is rubbing my rotors. Sorry if this is a dumb question but is there anything I might have done wrong?

 

just bend it back a little to clear. It is easy to bend and often gets bent just removing the spindles. The gussets are no factor for the dust shield.

 

going to take off the tire and give it a go.

 

took off my wheel and caliper, beet back the dust guard flush to the spindles and no more scraping!

 

I send this to members installing their own spindles. I sent it to @Dampahee yesterday






I hit the red area flat against the spindle gusset with a hammer.


Then I tap the green section back a little with the same hammer. Not too far back maybe 3/4”


Then I tap the blue section back about the same amount.


After that I bolt the rotor on with two lug nuts and check for clearance. Pay close attention to the green area and blue area for rubbing. You may need to adjust them a little. I usually do it with the rotor mounted.

Here’s another 4 sets that we welded up this weekend. All but one set are spoken for 2 are currently in the mail headed to their new homes.

Finished installing mine last weekend using 4runner trail rims with the OP gusseted spindle, it has about 1/4 of an inch between the rims and the spindle. Thank you OP for the nice and strong spindle.

 

Mine are still perfect after a year or so. Don't mind the fucked up paint

Did you have to use a different upper ball joint nut to clear the gussets?
