Hey guys, I am tired of bending my alignment tabs so pulled the trigger on the parts in the title, but am running into a problem. I set everything out and it looks like the rear cams are too small of a diameter for the new tabs. Should I reuse the cam from the stock bolts, or am I missing somethibg here? Thanks in advance.

A little more info in case anyone runs into this problem or needs more info to figure it out.

Spc part numbers and dimensions :

    80002012 46mm cam

    80002003 53.75 cam

Total chaos is closed Fridays (lucky bastards) so I don't have proper measurements for that. If anyone does that would be much appreciated!

Truck has been down for a week, anyone run into this problem? Spc says I may have to buy several kits and trial and error find a cam that fits.

Both the spc and toyota measure 46mm for the small cams, I measured them this evening.

You need the Marlin Crawler LCA braces. Look at this upgrade. Good luck.

The total chaos tabs are basically the same thing, issue is that the cams on the spc bolts varies by almost 0.5mm.

TL;DR bought three sets of spc bolts all small cams were 0.5mm smaller than the Toyota cams, TC wouldn't provide measurements, mixed and matched Toyota parts to get the gap more acceptable.

I ended up buying two new rear Toyota eccentric bolts because of the size discrepancy, and spc was extremely helpful. Total chaos on the other hand never provided me with the tab to tab measurements they had on their drawings after multiple requests to compare to measurements before/after install. I had my truck aligned 3-4 times til I finally bit the bullet and paid 10 hours labor to do the lca bushings take off the old tabs and weld the upgraded ones on. I still have slight vibrations but I think that's because I haven't done the steering rack bushings in poly also. King extended travel shocks with 700lb springs dakar heavy duty leaf pack and jba UCAs so there was little reason it would drive worse than stock!

Hopefully nobody has to go through the headache of this! If I had known marlin crawler made a similar kit I would have purchased from them. I'll never buy another total chaos product! More trouble than it's worth, measured my buddy's bone stock 40k mile 2015 and the inside of the shoulders were closer together in the rear than the total chaos kit after welding. Either the jig for cutting the gussets is wrong or I got a bad batch. Either way they were no help!

I have to disagree. While both are marketed to fix the same issue, the Marlin product goes a step further by reinforcing the entire LCA mount area. That is exactly what a friend of mine really needed vs his TC tabs; His LCA mounts ended up bending way more than was acceptable despite only 1 moderate trail day. We ended up pounding and muscling them back as much as we could but his alignment is still jacked up.

His setup was Kings 700lb, TC UCA, TC LCA std +0, LCA tabs.

Well said. Marlin Crawler LCA braces most definitely strengthen the mounts.

Sorry to hear that. After seeing my friend's issue on his '05 and noticing cam tab issues on my '18, I would absolutely recommend this be done in conjucntion with any suspension work.
We often recommend doing the ECGS mod with a lift, this should be right up there on the list IMO. Even better if Toyota would fix both of these issues for us, but I digress :D.

it's some stress dealing with it now, and not sure when you need to be back on the road or whatever, but i'm also of the idea that putting any more time/money/energy into the TC tabs isn't the best way forward. i have the Marlin braces too, and i pretty much think every Tacoma should have those up front and a set of Hammer Hangers in the rear. there's simply no comparison between the Marlin and the TC for the LCA mounting area. dramatically changed how my truck drives as well.
