with a longer resi hose and a remote mount i think running them inside the frame attached to a crossmember will work nicely. Probably how I'll do it with double bypasses.

Not enough room for my liking between the frame and bed... plus, Sharp edges... why I went piggyback. I probably could have gotten away with no residential but that's no fun;)

nah they are worth it i think. Makes it easier to rebuild yourself too haha

Plus I think if you did the right fittings like 90º off the shock you'd avoid alot of the edges. But Idk. Haven't looked enough yet obviously.

I have piggybacks on mine, and I wish I would have gone remote resi.

FWIW, Micah valved mine as well, and they were like clouds on the street, but bottomed out badly, and would overcycle with any good hits. I contacted King and we bumped up the compression valving about 30%, now they still ride very nicely on road, but don't bottom out nearly as easily.

Of course all of my bump stops are nicely polished... lol

Yeah and you can't add hyros with the solo kit with the shock placement.

I think that would help a ton on the rear. But again..gonna rub that shit pretty bad. Still, be nice. I have the TC hydro kit too. But that will likely end up on Frankenstein as im gonna run the wider axle.

I could see my rear bottoming out on large hits especially loaded down... but my bumps soak stuff up nicely. Time will tell, maybe I'll need a bit more compression valving as well????

Yes, the lack of somewhere to place the hydro's is making me consider switching to the Total Chaos kit to be honest.

Drive it like you stole it, and see what happens.

My compression was too soft, so it would bottom out, then buck the back end up, then compress nearly all the way down again before settling.

Now with the added compression stiffness, it absorbs the first hit, and levels out without bouncing or bucking.

You really need to just have it loaded like it would be for your average trip, and drive the piss out of it. Take notes, take video, and go from there.

Possibly yes. Just have to give it a go!

    Wow really??

Pretty much my plan but with a T100 axle on Frank. Igor i probably won't go wider. But having a wider rear than front will kill the turning radius. So might as well LT the front.

And I thought you didn't want to do that :luvya:

Don't get me wrong, I love the solo kit, but my only other option would be to take a hole saw to the frame and French the bump into it. Which would work for some sleeper points lol.

I don't, but you already have front glass! haha.

I don't care that my shocks rub. By the time the decals rub off, I need a rebuild anyways and I just put new ones on. Perk of living only a few minutes away from King, DC Shock Services, and an hour or so away from DSM.

Curious, why did you weld it on vs bolt on?

ah thought you were going too. haha Yeah i'll likely do that. Put the ELite rear bumper on Igor and fab up a new one to go with the bed sides flare. But i'll do custom hoops for the shocks as I want to run 2.5s like you're doing.

Notching the frame would suck. Plus if you switch you'd have to get 2'' shocks as the 2.5s will not fit. No way in hell with the TC kit.

you have to weld it on. The bolts are just to line it up so you know where it goes.

Run a taller hoop with 12" shocks. Can't remember, are you SUA? If you're going custom, there's no reason to limit yourself to a 10" shock in the rear.

If I did it i'd go to 2.0 twin bypasses. Or i'd see if I could talk TC into doing a custom one to fit my 2.5's and run hydros. No point in running a bypass and a hydro in a little truck like mine. Kind of overkill. I'd only run the bypass to act like a bump zone.

Ah, looked at TC's pictures again. They didn't weld it on all sides, just the outer edges.

yeah plan is 12'' double bypasses with resis and hydro bumps. Not SUA. still SOA and am fine with that. I think it'll hold me over nicely for a few years. Im just gonna link it instead of doing a full bed cage and SUA. Need to get a more permeant place to live first though.

Be cool if they made one for 2.5s. I think if you're gonna have a GFC and camp gear the hydros would be worth it. Weight is the enemy here. They really help. I've been in a 2nd gen with the older Pelfry built relocation kit and hydros and its stupid plush with full armor and some tuning.

That's true, may as well link it.

I honestly thing the GFC is lighter than my bed rack/ruggedized Tepui. But, I do need hydros, and probably another 10-15% on the compression + hydros.

Going to eventually grab the secondary front shock hoop from TC so I can run a small dual bypass in the front with bumps. The only thing slowing me down is how hard the hits are hahah. That and the fronts start to fade and the back is still cool to the touch.

you don't have resi up front do you right?

Thats why I love the front LT. Was so damn worth it. Eats shit up the stock front could never do. Its amazing. I wish FROR Would pull their head out of their ass and finish the 2.5'' LT kit. Think that would be great for a mid travel romper rig.

hydros up front? mm..im not a fan of that idea. Some nice rubber ones are better I think.

The GFC is lighter than my bed bars and Summit CVT. But its also taller...not sure how it'll feel yet. But still, only a 30lb difference i think. Weight is still the enemy and I think hydros out back are ideal.

Makes ya want a 2nd gen sometimes with all the suspension options they have off the shelf..

No resi up front, King doesn't like doing it, but they will build a set with them if you ask nicely. I could always do that too, but packaging is super difficult for stock width and a hydro, and a smoothie plus hydro and mounting is about the same price as the hoop and a bypass.

I really do want a second gen sometimes. Bolt on +2 kit for just a little extra travel, SUA in the rear with BAMF's shock relocation and that nice composite bed... bolt on hydro kit etc.

Really? Huh didn't know that. Im going with ADS anyways, tis better :D

I don't think you'll fit a hydro up front well period. Nor will it work well as you'll be in the bumps at ride height even on a 2'' stroke. 1'' stroke doesn't seem worth the effort and cost vs a Superbump and bypasses.

Yeah, +2 kit, TC SUA setup with Archive hangers with 14'' shocks and hydros.

    Or 3.5 and DMZ kit.

Lots of options for those guys.

Well, apparently TC doesn't agree with you lol. They fit a coilover, smoothie, and a hydro in the front.
