    Is it required to have the secondary shock installed, or can I just attach the one OME BP-51? As well as is there any way to have that lowest nut flushed. I feel it is in a vulnerable spot all out in the open like that.

    You can use just the OME BP51; you'd need the shock hoop to run a secondary shock anyway.
    Are you talking about the ball joint nut/bolt or alignment nut/bolt?
