    I'm guessing not all rear shocks have reservoirs...? And is that an aftermarket spindle? I don't think mine looks like that.

    Why would you use a remote reservoir? Is that just the particular design of a manufacturers shock or is there some benefit to it?

    It puts a fluid or gas into your shocks to keep them cool and prevent over heating.

    Total chaos spindles, Total chaos heim joint uca's, Icon E/T coilovers, Icon reservoir shocks, custom Deaver 10 leaf pack, 285/70/17 Cooper STT
    All shocks have fluids in them. My reservoir stores all the fluid so the shock does not have too. This allows for more down travel. The Icon rear shock currently has more range of travel than any other shock on the market for our trucks.

    And about the DR remote reservoir: the entire shock and reservoir is made by Icon Vehicle Dynamics. DR, Donahoe racing, is what the company used to be named.

    King 10" coilovers w/ resi. 3.5" over long travel kit. Factory spindles w/ ALLPRO gussets. Total Chaos tower gussets. Energy Poly cab mounts and steering rack mounts. Glassworks fenders and bedsides. Home fabbed bed cage. King 2.5x16 bypass shocks in the rear. DMZ long travel rear end. Race radio (2meter). Removed secondary carbon air filter. Exhaust dumped before the axle / no muffler. Phram fresh air cabin filter. K&N replacement filter, After market stereo, Grillcraft grill, custom fabled roof rack with 7" HID's, PRP race seats.

    It's definitely do able. As a matter of fact it's almost easier because the collar is a major pain in the ass to turn, so having it anchored to the truck makes turning the collars easier. Granted you can only make small turns with the limited space but it won't take long. Get yourself a piece of 3 foot pipe to put over the spanner wrench. That's how I get enough leverage.

    they all adjust the same way by turning the collar (the black piece on top of the spring)

    holy thread dig batman!

    I am able to adjust my fox's still ON the truck, just put a jack under it and turn. I use about a 10" piece of pipe on the end of my spanner wrench to get better leverage:cool:
