That video and this thread was a real help this weekend. I tried to be fancy and did the bolt cutting method. It was a waste. After cutting both bolt heads off I was only able to get one in the reverse way but still had to bend the inner fender on the driver side. If I were to do it again, bending the both sides would be the way I'd go.

Kinda new here what are the advantages of the total chaos uca and do they have a longer service life over the stock uca? I have a 2009 trd sport 4x4 with 3 in lift and 285s

So I take it the install for camburg uniball uca's is pretty identical to these?

What's the best way to replace this bushing? Ordered a new one and waiting for it to arrive.

a full reinstall is in order basically. you'll need to remove the whole UCA in order to put the bushing and sleeve in the arm. I mean. you could probabyl try to do it with it still attached to the spindle but would be as much of a pain in the ass as just removing the whole UCA.

Could be but, I think typically that happens from over-greasing.

EDIT: upon further thought, not really sure how this could happen. I believe with over-greasing, the bushing would be bulged out evenly the entire circumference of the bushing. Since you're is only blown out on top, I'm not sure how that would happen. and over-tightening should be similarly even as with the over-greased scenario....so I have no idea how this would happen.

One more question, can I get the truck aligned, tires rotated. Then replace uniballs and bushings. Truck pulls bad to he right and I won't have the parts until next week?

Its best to get it aligned after the install.

Just did a uniball and bushing replacement on my desert racing uca's do to groan, squeak noises. Started at noon and got one side done by five. I had to use a 25t shop press to get the uniball out and new one in. Had other side half way out and ran out of time Nd buttoned her back up. Noises are gone thank god as I don't plan on tackling the left side any time soon.

Sorry for quoting something a year old, but I wanted to clarify something.

At 1:58 in this installation video made by TC:

    https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bbsTJgb6S_c

    They specifically state:

Now they do say to and demonstrate greasing the insides of the bushings after the bushings are installed in the control arm and before the inner sleeves are installed into the bushings.

So yes, it sounds like definitely grease during installation and don't just hit the zerk at the end. But it sounds like "ALL OVER" is not the correct thing to do. Only grease the insides of the bushings, that is the inner surface of the bushings that interfaces with the metal inner sleeve. Do not apply grease to the outsides of the bushings, that is the outer surface of the bushings that interfaces with the control arm itself.

the issue they are not thinking of, is the bushings STILL move a bit in the UCA, thus causing squeaks. If you look at the bushings, you will see "Grease channels" in the Bushings. By rubbing grease all over the bushing, you not only guarantee eliminating future squeaks, but also you are making sure these don't get plugged with dirt, or something when installing. Although they say not to lube the bushing as I do, I stand by my instructions, as everyone who has done it their way, has had squeaks, while my way hasn't had any.

Cool, thanks for following up! That makes sense about squeak suppression.

I wonder why the manufacturer goes out of their way to say to do that opposite though. Wouldn't be the first time end users have a better solution than the manufacture though...

Not sure. I know quite a few folks who've had me install the UCA's, and they have been problem free for many years. Also know folks who have done it their way, and they squeak pretty quickly. Only way to fix it, is to remove, re grease (My way), and re install.
