Total Lunar eclipse tonight

I was able to see the eclipse but it wasn't red. Now I have cloud cover and can tell there is a reddish hue.

 

Are you kidding? That's an amazing picture. I couldn't keep my hand steady for the longer exposure. It's cold here...

 

Cloudy here Funny how its clear 90% of the time here and now is the time it chooses to be cloudy.

 

Its all clouds here. I saw it for about a minute earlier but now its all covered over.

 

I shot these with a Canon Rebel XS DSLR, tripod and 250mm zoom lens.

 

shoot at the largest file, then crop it 100%

 

I ended up setting my alarm at 12:45am. I walked outside, but it was too cloudy to see anything.

My alarm goes off at 3:45 CST so I got to look out and see the last bit of it. IIRC, the next time there will be lunar eclipse on winter solstice will be in 2092. Glad I got to see this one. My eyesight may not be any good in 2092 when I turn 132. Also glad I got to see Haley's comet awhile back. That's a once every 75 yr thing. Nice pics guys...............

 

i missed it because of the non-stop rain here in so-cal!!!

 

I saw it in between clouds as they went by , glad I waited around outside , it was pretty cool .

The moon looked pretty great as well .
