Missing My Last Tacoma --- Had 11 Toyota trucks in the past and many other Toyota cars too.
...^^^... This was kind of my point in another thread. Toyota's Q/C varies on what they spec. & spend with vendors too. The "Mean Time Between Failure" tests on higher end car vehicle (Lexus & Toyota Land Cruiser) has a different (higher Q/C) part for same exact application. IIRC, the Land Cruiser is built (Lexus standards) as a 25 year vehicle.

Many times, when a vehicle part fails, it is a vendor supplied part designed to their specs and price point.

Who else likes their Tacomoa despite the new-vehicle-blues?

It's a work in progress. See my build thread.
Agreed! I am now quite pleased with the way mine shifts. I had a CPS failure misdiagnosed on my 1st 2016, and they tore down the engine, replaced one of the cam gears and then it broke down again. Long story short (too late), I got a new truck, and I have 2400 miles on it, and they did the shift TSB at delivery. It feels smooth and much more powerful, even when not in power mode, than the 1st truck did...

I love the look and styling. Interior is great. It does well on highway and off road. Wished to hell they could make this transmission perform a little more peppy around town without having to use ECT. Concerned about Quality with hood adhesive failure, rear diff issues and leaf springs design that seems to be lacking and predisposed as a noise maker.

My only issue is the rear diff, that howl is not normal, like you said a bit concerning. Otherwise out of my 5 tacomas, this one is my favorite by far.

The hood thing has been common for a long time. Many models. Fortunately there isn't a huge Yaris forum to bitch about it and make it more known than how to put air in the goddamn tires.

Why? If you start searching the internet for your symptoms, you end up here. (Feel free to try it for yourself). Once you end up here, it is much easier to sign-up, and simply ask for help, than it is to start searching.

I'm getting my Tacomoa painted that color to match my door cards and dash pad.

Numerous times a new member has come here and his first post was about some dramatic problem with his Tacoma. Usually ends up getting towed back to the dealer. Then never hear from them again.

But he's been a member for 10 days before he posted the never before seen problem with his truck! It was more a public service announcement.
    True dedication to the cause.

Dude, it's been every day now, same symptom, same 1st post new member, he spelled Tacoma wrong and the color is not even a color, I would say its more likely someone is trolling over the chances its a new member with a CPS issue everyday now.

My hood was fixed with "special" toyota kit and I like it. Shop did great job, it's clean and solid with very minimal vibration. It's vibrating no more than on my 4Runner:)
