Thanks for the tip. Mine came out once already to put in the bed lights, although that was several months ago. Hopefully that will help somewhat :)

Well, I got the kit yesterday and installed it this morning. While it was not quite as simple as Meso makes out in the video (The male Meso connectors for the switchback light that plugs into the OEM wiring harness required some pin bending with needle nose pliers in order to line up), it was easy enough for a mechanically impared old fart like me to do. Got it all done in 45 min and ended up not needing the resistors. No hyperflash! :)

That's odd. Mine went in with no problems. Either way, you got them installed and that's what matters.

The two for the brake/running lights went right in. The left switchback connector required a little giggling but eventually went in. The right side wouldn't go without some very gentle persuasion from the needle nose, and I tried for a while before I resorted to that because I was nervous about breaking a pin. But as you say it all worked out in the end. :)

    Huh that’s kinda weird
Mine was super smooth but had to add the resistors in the end as I
    Had hyper flash.
Either way glad you got them
    Going :)

I thought hyper flash was only in reverse when signaling?

It seems like hyper flashing is hit or miss with the folks installing the stage 1 kit. Some have it, some don't. I happened to get lucky. Hyper flashing is your truck's way of telling you it thinks there is something wrong with the bulb(s). The most common reason it happens when you swap out to LED bulbs is that they draw much less current than the halogen bulbs they replaced. The electrical system interprets the reduced load as the bulb being out, causing the hyper flash to "warn" you. The solution for this is to install a resistor that will keep the load at a level closer to that of the original halogen bulb. Another reason (much less common) is that LED bulbs may cause hyper flash when they overheat. This can happen when you leave your hazards on for an extended period, for example. In this case the system is letting you know to turn the bulb off so it can cool down. Once it does, it will function normally.

One thing I thought of today - my truck has LED daytime running lamps. Those and the stage 1 kit I just installed today are the only LEDs on the truck. I'm wondering, since the truck came from the factory with the LED running lamps, is it possible that the system has a lower load threshold than trucks that don't come with any LEDs and explain why I didn't need a resistor? Or did I just get lucky? :)

there was no polarity issues when I put them on today. maybe it differs from model to model just like some models need a resistor for the kit.

the install was a breeze. i have a 2018 sr5 access cab and i did not need the resistor. I ended up using the o-ring that was on the stock turn signal. without it on the new LED bulb it wouldnt sit properly. my other thoughts are its way overpriced what it is and the turn signals are extremely bright, almost blinding. there is no reflector covering the LED diodes. it would be nice to have a small reflector blocking the bright diodes so the person behind me doesnt get blinded by them. they would be perfectly bright still even with the reflector. i know im nitpicking here but just feels very ricey with bare led bulbs for the turn signals. overall, i would recommend this product and hope they release another version with more refinement.

Mine seemed to sit fine with the little styrofoam O-rings that came with the kit so I just used theirs. Was it the pins on the turn/reverse Meso connector that you had to bend up too?

Yeah I'm pretty sure it was. I remember it was two pins in the connector.

Yup that's it. Did you get your kit from this last batch Meso put out? I'm wondering if this batch had an issue with that connector that @MESO would like to know about.

I have an SR and it sounds like im going to need the resistors to prevent hyper flash. Meso is sold out, so if anyone has a set they don't need let me know, thanks

I installed this mod over a year ago. I really like it. Yes the lights are brighter especially the turn signal. I like the better visibility to others on the road over the way it was stock. Is it a little pricey maybe but it's a designed custom product.
My truck is an sr5 double cab and I needed the resistors as I got a hyper flash on the left only. Still I installed pair.

I would like to know where I can get replacement bulbs, especially the switch backs.

A link to this was recently posted on another Meso Total Tail thread:

    https://www.vleds.com/vlr-15-wp-t-adapter-2.html

Per @BLtheP they work with the Meso system. I'm thinking of ordering a set (I have the hyper flash in reverse with mine).
