Yep just leave it plugged in and they should loop record so you always have the last few hours of driving recorded, all of them come with long enough cables to hide/route all the way to your power source.

New vehicle, rental truck, medical expenses, adds up quick.

Not true at all but lucky for you. There are no laws or regulations governing insurance companies. Even though insurance is required to operate a vehicle in America, insurance companies have no legal obligation to honor contracts. Civil matter. Hire a lawyer to fight an insurance company with a thousand lawyers, politicians, police and judges on the payroll. State insurance commissioner the most corrupt in a pile of greedy corruption.

Sorry to hear. Buts it’s a truck replaceable, your not. Believe you got lucky because you did. if you were going a hair faster she may have impacted your door and basically into you, and you may have been severely injured

this is very wrong. They do have an obligation to fulfill at least some other contract which is where the state department of insurance comes in. If they flat out refuse to pay out at all, contact your State Department of Insurance.

now, in the event that they do pay out but say for example that you caused the wreck there really isn't much you can do in case like that. As long as they have some sort of semblance of doing their job you're pretty much hoes so in that regard, you are correct.

Wow, pretty brutal wreck. Glad you're mostly ok. What shocks me is that your light was green for 10+ seconds! It's not like she was running a red that had changed when she was 10' from it. What was she fleeing from a robbery??? Head down while texting for 15 seconds? Crazy.
But you're right about the dash cam. I don't have one, but really need them in both vehicles. Especially for reckless drivers. I need to add them to the Amazon list.

listing mods usually doesn't matter, in my experience insurance covers tacomas pretty well. i had a stock 2012 TRDOR that got totalled out in 2016 from a massive rear-end, insurance gave me 36k for it. had no complaints, but still wish it'd never happened, still miss my '12

Im overseas so nothing can be done. A guy I met was drunk driving. He was in his way home and some lady that was drunk on a motorcycle ran in to his car. He has to pay about 15,000 to her family

Right. You've since clarified that you're overseas, so any comment about US laws (federal or state) don't apply to your situation.

I saw somebody else talking about the Vava and I am in the market to get a dash cam soon. Do you still have it and if so, pros and cons. Thank you.

Check out the Cobra SC200-D, for about $230 including the extra wiring. Very happy with it

I actually have one VAVA dashcam in the 4Runner and one in my Scion xB. I'm happy with them, but I'm also pretty sure that there are plenty of other good units out there. Technology marches on and mine are both about 2 years old.
