Your daily driver Tacoma just might have saved you some serious injuries. What would it have been like if you would have been in a little sports car. Get a newer taco and forget th car.

This will not help you at all...

I hope that you have USAA or at least State Farm. You'll need a good insurance co to step up for you.

Good luck and keep us posted!

Running red light accidents are hard to prove unless you have 1-2 witnesses to give a statement... I witnessed one once where a diesel hit a small truck, knocked the guy out cold, but it was the little trucks fault and I had to give a sworn statement, the cop questioned me several times to make sure I was telling the truth...

Here's a 1999 for $5,500, you aren't real far from it, and I could go check it out for you if you like... (It's in Northeast TN)

If I were you I would go to the police/sherriff office and make a statement under oath that the other guy ran the red light. Just as backup so the insurance doesn't blame you for the accident and raise your premiums etc.
Also, if the insurance payout is not enough to replace your truck in kind (they typically don't pay extra to replace mods unless you had it specifically included) then you can go after the other guy's insurance for the difference, but if you were at fault, it will be difficult. By the way, I am absolutely against frivilous law suits, but there is a difference in sueing them and negotiating to get a little extra to replace your truck to at least the way it was.

Actually, based on the damage to the frontal area of the truck, it appears you hit someone, Candice. Be careful crossing intersections, because some will always try to rush through as the light changes. Anyway, stuff happens and you're apparently okay. Latter is always the most important.

Oh, brother. At age 20, how could you possibly know that? In a few years, assuming one don't screw up his or her future, the ages you mention (16 & 21) will be nothing more than distant memories, superceded by other memories and nearly endless opportunities to make many more.

Happy Belated Birthday! Glad you are ok.
If you kept your recipts for your mods make sure you let the insurance company know how much you spent, so you might be able to recoup some of that.

Gotta look at it as a stepping stone. yes your 1st car totaled but with the insurance money you can buy a step up, couple years newer, pull off all your aftermarket parts and put em on and have a nice newer truck. just gotta show the new one more T.L.C. in memory of your fallen.

Also, if it's totaled find out if you can snag the tailgate and rear bumper assembly...then sell them to me

With that being said...if you want to discuss the details of your FR-10 form, feel free to PM me
