If the damage is more than 75%, I think, of value of truck then it would be totalled. I had a Honda Civic once that had frame damage and was told it could be fixed. I did not want the car back because who's going to buy a frame repaired car.

Totaled. You better take your adjuster out for lunch, buy him whatever he can eat, and make him agree to totaling it. Trust me, you don't want that truck back.

my brother hit some one years ago and it knocked the car into the other car. his insurance had to pay for both cars. the 18 wheeliers insurance should have to pay for your truck and the jeep. i would say its a totaled

And the final verdict was "Totaled". A sad day for our first Taco, however a relief when we heard the initial repair estimate was > $22k.

Some more pics below from the repair assessment, if anyone is interested in what $22k gets you in Canada for repairs. Apart from the panel, box and bed liner damage, the axle and leaf hanger were both bent, which put a slight bend in the frame at the hanger mounts. Apparently this can straightened relatively easily and they can replace the hanger with a bolt-up replacement. The insurance company was also talking about getting a used bed liner, which sounds similar to other's experiences with insurance companies.

I had to take a final pic of her undamaged front, to remember her by.

Thank you for all the support TW Members, as it is paying off as we work our way through the total loss process.

I may be late in suggesting this but wait a month to finalize the paperwork since sometimes lingering injuries began to surface a few wks or mos post trauma and you want to make sure the insurance co. will cover the medical costs.

YES! Great idea! If the ins co will ONLY total your truck if you & other occupants sign a medical release immediately (this happened to me!), be sure to delay signing as long as possible to ensure you guys have no injuries.
