Good idea. Even I myself have not seen it from the top. The truck is always up in the air each time I've gone by, so I've only seen things from below.

Next time I will try and remember to ask if the truck could be lowered.

Getting ready for my brother's wedding today, but I hopefully have a big update to share later today.

So the new engine sounds fantastic. No 7th injector or tune added yet, just stock ecu setup, but it was so smooth at idle and the new exhaust is better than expected. Nice and simple deep growl and not very loud.

Of course, this was just while parked and no load or driving yet. Shop owner says the clutch pedal is super soft, most likely just needs new fluid from sitting for a year, but he'll get it sorted. The master and slave cylinders were newly put on before the wreck.

Several smaller items to get completed before the first test drive. Fix front bumper and put it back on, fix the winch and LED light bar wiring, replace bad brake line on passenger front wheel, a code for the thermostat keeps popping up, install hood, and perform an alignment. Once these are done, it should be good to start the 500 mile break in period.

Did I remember to get a picture of the engine bay from up top? Yes I did, and I will add them here.

Did I get a video of the engine starting and small revs to hear the supercharger wine and new exhaust? Also yes! But also no! I recorded it using my phone and it had synced the video to my onedrive account, so I deleted it thinking it would delete it from just my phone.

But noooooo, apparantly it deletes it everywhere that is setup to "sync" with OneDrive. I should have uploaded it as a separate file instead of syncing it.

Hope everything goes well when it arrives. I don't know if the VIN shows up on any engine parts, but if you spot one, shoot me a message and we can see if it's my engine block we sent back.

The shop was running into fuel pressure issues and a low idle. Ended up being the fuel regulator, the one thing they missed replacing when they had the engine out. This regulator is probably the original one as well with 310K miles on it.

They also ordered a new PFP Endurotrek seat to replace my torn up driver's seat. They say it is very close to being drivable and on the road for its 500 mile break in period.

I am also still waiting on URD to get more 70mm supercharger pulleys back in stock. It's been about 5 months now. Will be running the 75mm pulley until then. The 7th injector kit came with a second tune for the 70mm pulley.

    Another quick update.

Yes, things got delayed again. PFP sent the wrong seat out (They sent passenger instead of driver seat), and then the shop realized they can't get the stock mechanical seat slide to fit the PRP seat, but PRP sells a replacement slide adjustment that will work. Just have to wait for that to be shipped.

The truck does have new TRD stickers now. The old ones were severely faded, and one side had peeled off about half the stock sticker

Just thought I'd ask if you are into your 500 mile break in. I've been following the thread and hope it's all good.

Sorry for no updates. The last I heard is that the shop is still waiting on the new seat tracks to be delivered to install the new driver's seat. Seems the tracks were out of stock.

I sent a text this morning asking for another update.

I heard back from the shop.

The new track came in and the seat is installed now.

They ran into an issue where the dip stick extension that came with the URD kit was rubbing and damaging the supercharger belt. The belt has been replaced and the extension bent out of the way so it no longer rubs.

They have a few items left. Replacing the front brake lines that were damaged in the wreck, repairing and straightening the corner of the front ARB bumper that was damaged in the wreck and reinstalling it, and then repairing the electrical work for the winch and light bar installed on the front bumper (Caliber collision thought it was best to just cut through all the wires instead of unplugging them).

    Some more bad news.

The shop was unable to get the front bumper corner on the passenger side bent all the way back. None of their machines or winches were strong enough.

I was hoping to avoid having to buy a new bumper, but it looks like it can't be avoided. The only other option was for the shop to cut off about 8 inches from the corner, but after this much time and money, I didn't want to start half assing things.

So I placed an order for a new bumper, should hopefully be at the shop in about a week.

I almost got to take my Tacoma home today.

Last week the shop got everything finished that we wanted done before the 500 mile break in, and were ready to have me pick up the truck today.

They did still have two engine codes they were still trying to resolve, which they spent the weekend working on. However, by this afternoon, they still could not resolve the two codes.

One is for O2 heater circuit code, and the second is for engine coolant temp below thermostat.

The engine is getting up to 212F which is normal operating temp, yet still throwing the second code. For the first code, they replaced an O2 sensor and repaired a ripped our wire from the wiring harness plugs, but code still comes back.

The shop also upgraded my offroad lighting system. Of course, I forgot to take pictures of anything Tacoma related. Which is stupid because I had just taken a thousand pictures of my new home this morning during a pre-drywall inspection.

Here is to hoping the engine codes can be resolved by next weekend.

PS - I did sit in it to try out the new PRP Euro trek seat, and started it to listen to the engine and exhaust again. This thing has very quick throttle response, nothing like the stock engine which was very sluggish to rev.
