Well, it took an MRI and a pediatric orthopedic doctor to figure it out in our case. It got worse for her after the accident later during the first week. Anyways, we’re on the fourth week and she’s back in school but not PE for awhile. Oh and no lawyer, we’re not going there.

    White tail sounded pretty upset.

All good. And I agree material things can be replaced life can't.
And as @OnHartung'sRoad mentioned medical documents will go a lot further than a comment on a forum.

I sold my 2002 with 1 accident privately. It was just a bumper dent and I didn’t fix it. The buyer haggled over the CarFax ding, but I stayed firm. He wanted it badly and gave in.

    Not totaled.

And for the parking lot attorneys there is a separation between personal and property damage. I doubt this is the place to discuss personal injury if for no other reason than the fact that all 50 states have different laws.

No it’s all good. I see what you mean, but just like the mod did... We can’t just jump to conclusions. That’s unfair to the guy who just gave his advice. I don’t think he meant it with any ill intent he was just trying to help the OP in case it came to a higher level of addressing the vehicle or medical care.

I definitely agree that there are some people that try and take advantage of a situation. No doubt that it happens. It’s sad to see but if given the chance some people do try and get paid.

    Like, so many.
I bet that's going to be totaled. Hopefully the insurance goes smoothly.

As long as the other driver is insured.

My accident in Sept 2017 was with an uninsured driver and the damages were a little over $10k. Since I had uninsured motorist coverage I had to pay the deductible but wasn’t able to seek diminished value. Basically I can’t go after my own insurance company to recoup diminished value.

I read it that he should keep his personal injuries private. He might have accident related issues show up at a later time.

Unfortunately, my perception of things gets a little skewed. Having been here a while and seeing some of the things people will attempt to pull it generally skews one’s views.

You might be able to squeak by… but it’s all going to depend on whether or not the shop you have chosen to fix your vehicle, will use aftermarket or OEM Toyota parts. Airbags, glass, doors, suspension, and most of all the frame will cost a pretty penny. The one thing you have going for you, is Tacoma’s hold their value. There may also be some unseen damage as well. Hopefully there’s no damage to the frame, or the damage is minimal and it can be fixed without being replaced. If they have to replace the frame, it will cost a lot of money. Your insurance company is also going to play a major factor. If I were you, I would be proactive with your insurance company, asking if they are going to put OEM or aftermarket parts back into your Toyota. Aftermarket parts are junk. Your Tacoma deserves better.

    Good luck.

No, he's not saying that. If this goes to court over anything, the insurance company is going to bring up any little thing that will help their case, and that includes the OP saying he just had a few scratches, when later it turns out something else was injured. You never know what can appear a few days after the accident.

Doubt the frame is tweaked, maybe a shit in a body mount but unlikely. The frame in that area is boxed just under the front doors. Looks like a small car hit you.

If they do not total your truck make sure that you ask for loss of value. Because even if they fix the vehicle 100% since it has been in a wreck the value of the vehicle goes down you want to make sure that you are compensated for that amount of money plus whatever pain and suffering and so forth. Then I will take the truck in and trade it and put that cash down as a down payment.

Looks like your axle is damaged. Usually that means it counts as a totaled vehicle. The good thing is youll get max payout id rather have that than drive a partially fixed truck with a salvaged tittle. Sucks man. Glad to hear your ok though.

Unless you don’t care and plan on driving it to the ground, a salvaged title is a deathnail to a trade in or to a good private sale price.

I would go see a chiropractor or massage therapist as I contemplated whether or not the truck was totaled. You need to start treating in order to recover. In my mind if they don't total it your poor truck got boned and that will always be in the back of your mind.

You should get compensated for all that and the only way to do it is bringing a personal injury claim. The only way you make a claim is with medical visits and treatment.

    I'm amazed nobody got hurt.
