Guys, gals......something about air bags you should be aware.

Air bags won't deploy at low speeds. I forget the speed threshold.

Otherwise, they'd deploy with every bump on the bumper when parking.

I would wager both trucks are totaled. Hope you are okay with no lasting issues. Wrecks suck.

Has it been 24 hours yet? It can be a day or two before the pain/soreness sets in.

As for the airbags, you didn't have a sensor wire spliced did you. Sorry, that was another thread, couldn't help myself.

Definitely both totalled. Glad no one was hurt.

You did the dodge owner a favor, now they can get a good looking truck.

So, are you gonna get another taco if/when insurance declares this a loss? Or are you thinking about other vehicles?

As the lawyers say, "It depends."

Needs a nose. Airbags didn't deploy. Frame bent? Cowl bent? If the cowl is bent, it's a goner. In times gone by, a body shop could cut the entire front end including the cowl off and "make one out of two" if the found one with a good nose.

I've out of the used parts business since the mid '80s and that and the body busy have changed a lot.

Of course the insurance companies find it much less expensive to pay out on a vehicle claim than a personal injury claim. New vehicles are designed to destroy themselves so that the passengers survive with minor or no injuries.

    80/20 it's totaled.

Even if the insurance company deemed the truck repairable, I wouldn’t want it back because the frame is likely bent and there’s probably other structural issues; Plus, there’s the whole “resale value” issue...

Also, I think you meant to say somebody ran a red light and you T-boned them (at least that’s what it looks in the pictures); Were they in the blue Ram?

I once rear-ended a Mustang GT going slow but still hard enough to bend the radiator support in my truck...

    :anonymous:

Airbags DID NOT deploy and there was no damage to the radiator or condenser; Cost about $1,500 to fix...

    :spending:

Trust everyone is ok including the other person
Sorry about your truck it doesn't look good
Doesn't take a lot to write them off
Better for you if they do because than you won't be driving a rebuilt truck
