Wife used the truck so I was hoping that she would confess to the crime and I’d get a new bumper out of it. She denied any knowledge so now I’m going to just pop it off and paint it.

 

I'd contact a lawyer and sue the pants off her......

 

False, everyone in Nigeria is super rich and royal and … is looking to wire me millions. All I need to do is send them a Wells Fargo wire for $1000 to verify I have an active account. I’m retiring soon !

Don’t paint it, leave it be. Point to it every time you guys walk by it and remind her how she’s ruined your truck. That way she’ll feel horrible and won’t ask you to do anything ridiculous like take the garbage out. I think I saw Dr. Phil give similar advice once.

 

With all that damage, even if not totaled, you need to charge her for diminished value.

yep, totally totaled, now time to call up that insurance company for a partial sponsorship on a steel bumper to teach those parking lot miscreants a lesson. My second favorite effect of the tube sliders.... all the lovely paint chips from dingus' at the carpark not paying attention (paint that easily would have otherwise been left on my cab)>

So for now I went cheap on the repair. Popped the cover off, sanded out the scratches, hit it with some primer and then just used Rust-oleum gloss khaki ($5) vs $66 to order a new cover. If my OCD is triggered too much I’ll pull the trigger on the replacement. Also decided to paint some bezel pieces that I had kicking around my garage for years.

 

Looks like a pretty good color match!

 

It’s “close enough” for now. To buy a 12 oz spray can of the good stuff would have been close to $50 by the time you add shipping.

 

Just out of curiosity, was the backup radar sensor already zip tied when you took the cap off?
