And 09+ have even more safety features standard, these trucks are a well designed safe ride. Best of luck on your new truck purchase

Glad to hear you're all okay and to see the front of the cab was pretty much spared and the back fared decently well. As for pricing, I've seen them down here for about 29K for the options you listed. Good luck, hope you find your way into a new taco soon.

Holly shit! Looks pretty intense! Glad you and your wife are ok. Crazy how the front of your cab looks untouched.

I do have to say though (I noticed this before I read what exactly happened).. Dear god bro!! Take a look at your tires, they are nearly bald. No wonder you started to hydroplane. Maybe in the future don't let the tires get that bad =D

Whats even shittier about it is that I asked the dealer a month ago when they think I should change them and Ithey said in about another 5-6 thousand miles. Not to thrilled now. The tow guy said the same thing. Wish I ignored them at the dealer.

The only thing that matters is that you are safe. I bought an 09 for the safety features and I think it's worth it after seeing this!

I'm in the market for the same truck and the lowest I've been able to find in my area is just under $29K without a doc fee. If you were willing to go to Wisconsin, you can get it a grand cheaper, but that's just too far for me. The prices my be drastically different on the left coast.

Good to hear there were no serious injuries.

5 or 6K was probably correct...for May in Calif. They just didn't consider you were going to be driving up into the snow (it is May in Calif after all). Considering it's "supposed" to be like summer here this time of year, those tires would have been good to get you to fall. But seeing as we're still experiencing winter out here (we've had snow at our house just about every week in May!), I wouldn't have gone up into the snow with those. That's part of why I replaced my tires last month. I was tired of slip sliding every which way with my BFG AT KO on the snow...just not enough tread left to get the job done.

Anyway, glad you're all okay. I bet that hurt! And my wife says she saw your accident on the news (at least the mention on it, not sure if she saw pics). I did the 100 ft down a very steep cliff with my mom my sophomore year in high school. She went around a corner too fast and lost control. Rolled several times, and it was without seat belts on. I remember crawling around the truck as it rolled. We came out okay and were very, very lucky, but the people that went off that spot 7 years earlier all died. They finally put up a guard rail there.
