That's the difference between vehicles built now and vehicles built in the late 70's (and a hell of a lot of luck to be alive without the seat belt on...especially if you saw where we went off). It was a full-size GMC Jimmy. Minor damage down one side and to the front door where we hit a tree while sliding down the hill on the roof. Spun the truck around and rolled several more times then came to rest upside down on some rocks and trees (I blacked out but can remember crawling around in the back along the roof/floor like trying to stay on the bottom of a rolling barrel until I woke up with a case of oil sitting on my legs). Those older heavier vehicles don't "give" like the trucks nowadays. Walked away with a puncture wound in the back of the head...didn't even need stitches. Was afraid to be driven near steep edges for years...still not too fond of them. So don't be surprised if the wife has some big fears while driving for awhile. Totally normal.

Glad to hear you are ok. I was contemplating going to Tahoe last weekend too.

I think $29.5 - $30K would be a very reasonable price for 4x4 Double short bed with TRD Off Road & Tow Package.

Seriously, bandage yourself up some, bring your wreckage pictures and walk gingerly into the stealership. That'll get you a few dollars off for sympathy.

Also, have them to remove the $179 floor mats and buy the WeatherTechs.

Little bumps and gusts of wind scare the shit out of me. Especially load noises but its been getting a little better.

I would send an e-mail to all the dealers around your area and have them send you a quote. No need to drive to all the dealers, the fleet manager is usually the one giving you a quote, so it tends to be less than if you walked into the dealership. I did that last year and Alburn Toyota had the best price. I'm in Sacramento, so it was a short drive to pick it up. I paid 28,300 for a 09 TRD ORD with everything but JBL audio. Should have told them to keep the overpriced mats, but didn't :(

Also 09+ come with Traction Control /Vehicle Skid Control as standard, it works very well in the snow! Had to turn it off to have some fun :) Hopefully it will help if I ever get into a situation like your accident.

^Winner, but you phuckers are still slow. It shouldn't take until page 4 for someone to say that.

And that dealer's smart. "Oh your tires are fine. They have at LEAST another 1k miles on them" and now you have to buy a new truck from them.

    ;)

Glad everyone is OK, especially the dog.

Dog probably looked at you with that "Why the *&^% did you do that?" look on his face.

On my last truck, my dog had his head out the window and stood on the "window up" button.

I couldn't override it from the driver side until he let off the switch when the window pinches his neck.

As soon as he was free, he looks at ME as if I did it to him.
