Just waiting for the "you guys are such fanboys" crowd to show up.

Certainly nothing wrong with loving your truck...regardless of the gen. Although everyone has the right to their own opinion...I hate the divide here on TW. It can get so ugly at times....my gen can beatup your gen crap.

    It's Tacoma World....not Gen-1 TW or Gen-2 TW or Gen-3 TW.

I've managed winter in the lower mid-west over the years in 2 Mazda B's and 3 Tacos....all 2WD. Snow tires on the back, experience and common sense have always got me through.

Trey Gowdy gave a speech at Liberty University. He makes some valid points, and it's worth a watch if you are so inclined. Basically, he says that you need to know WHY you believe what you do, and more importantly, how to communicate that in a persuasive way. Once you insult someone, they are no longer interested in the what or the why.

I agree, it's OK to have a difference in opinion and disagree, without insulting and using vulgar language. What happened to civility and just agreeing to disagree, while still getting along with the other person??

It really is a great engine. The transmission doesn't do it justice. Behind a 6 speed it's very fun and pulls hard.

That's called maturity. Sadly, there are people that go into old age without ever knowing that state.

I miss my Dodge D50 (Mitsubishi Mighty Max). It was an excellent mini-truck.

The 2005 I just bought is my first Taco. I was leary at first, because I actually prefer the older style small trucks. Had a '73 Datsun long bed and a '79 Toyota long bed. I loved both of those. Both were unkillably reliable, easy to work on, and with true long beds, they could actually be used as trucks, not oversized Subaru Brats (one of which I also had) without even the benefit of jump seats. And I actually made a significant profit on the Toyota when I finally retired it after 3 years of daily driving, despite never doing anything to it except regular maintenance and replacing the starter (which was going bad when I bought it) - the only vehicle I can say that about.

But I have to say, I really am very happy with my new purchase. I wish it had an extra foot of bed length, and the cab is wider than I need it to be (resting my arm in the open window is a little more of a reach than I like), but it's a great truck and I don't expect I'll ever need to buy another. Definitely happy with it.

The 3rd gen look has grown on me now that I see them all the time but I'm content with my 15 all the same. Let's be honest if the new back from the grave Ford Ranger comes to fruition and the jeep pickup looks interesting we will have more threads about coulda shoulda woulda.... For what it's worth I won't even look at the new ridgeline.....

My 2nd gen 2010 has under 60k miles and has run like a champ so far. Been through a lot of what NE Oregon and Central Idaho have to offer.
Not sold on the 3rd gen..front grill looks awful. I did get that new truck fever when the 17's came on the lot..they still offered me 22k for my 2010 :)

2nd gen for the win! I did not like the 3rd the gens when i bought my 15 new in 16. They made them bigger more complicated, slower off the line and larger turning radius not to mention the front end. No thanks ill stick with my dinosaur they've been around millions of years i bet ill be ok.
