    This is the 2005 Prerunner I sold.

    [IMG]

    [IMG]

    Got the '05 new in 2005. Sold in 2015 with 167k on it.

    Had a handful of mods. Just listing the less common ones it had.
    * Extra turn signals in grill since the BHLM made original not very bright. (tinted motorcycle signals fit well next to grill in the little triangle spot.
    * Stock 05 radio swapped for 2008 model. Gained AUX IN with help of ebay chinese plug.
    * LEDs under mirrors linked to dome light circuit.
    .
    .
    No major problems.
    Things I've fixed:
    * Exhaust manifolds (per TSB @ 18,000 miles for ticking sound).
    * Battery @ 94,000 miles.
    * U-joints and center driveshaft bearing @ 104,200 miles.
    * Front brake pads @ 131,700 miles.
    * Front wheel bearings @ 134,000 miles.

    Interesting notes:
    * Flowmaster muffler gained 0.2 mpg.
    * CAI gained 1.7 mpg more.
    Larger tires and lift each reduced mpg.

    Added white LEDs under the mirrors as 'courtesy lights' to light up ground outside the door when dome light comes on. Also put some LEDs under the front seats and in center cup holder for a little glow at night but not enough to glare in the windows. Blue under the seats and UV (blacklight) in cupholder. Thought about putting some amber LED in same spot under the mirrors linked to turn signals but I'm done running wires for a while now.

    Rattle from back seat area of double cab fixed!!!
    Also, leaf spring squeak reduced to tolerable level for now. We'll see how it holds up.

    Back seat rattle was plastic trim behind seats that's too close to metal at back of cab. You have to remove the behind the seat bins to see it. Remove the driver side section first because it overlaps the passenger side piece. There were marks in the paint where it's been chattering away. Some foam tape solved it. Left the bins out since it frees up a lot of space. Those red lines in the image show about where I ended up putting foam tape (weatherstripping or whatever you have).
    rattleset.jpg

    For leaf springs, it took 2 steps to address horrible squeaking.
    a) Zip ties around 2nd leaf down near each end.
    b) Replace the cracked plastic on the front most banding and add a washer so it doesn't close up so tight. I used old heavy duty garden hose with some grease on it to replace the plastic.
    spring1.jpg spring2.jpg spring3.jpg

    There is still a slight squeak but it's not embarrassing to go through parking lots anymore.

    My passenger leaf spring has an annoying squeak. my fix thus far has been to hose it down with white lithium every couple of months or so. need to do it again after the holes at LBL washed it all out o_O

    Yeah, mine had enough age and grime that lithium spray wasn't doing much anymore. Zipties still working so far.

    Sweet ride. I have similar suspension setup sitting in my garage waiting for me to have them time to install. (5100's but everything else is the same.) how much did you trim for your 285's? I have been looking at the new Falkens so it's 285 or 265.

    Removed splash shields in front of wheel and cut at most 1 inch triangle off back edge of the flares. Really minimal cutting for where this wheel & spacer combo puts the tires.
