The driver door handle touch lock/unlock appears to be acting up.

It locks just fine with a touch (or grab), but it is no loner working to 'unlock' the door.

I don't want to make a special trip to the Dealership for a diagnostic check up.

No settings have been changed, it jut stopped working properly - any ideas?

Check your battery. If it's old, your 'standby' voltage may be relatively low, which affect all manners of electrical systems & components. A battery should be load tested to determine its capabilities. The beginning of winter is probably one of the most common times that battery issues appear, as the onset of cold weather will negatively affect older, weaker batteries. If nothing else, clean and confirm solid electrical connections with all leads at the battery connections, and try a full condition or recharge.

Bravo - I put the battery on a charger immediately after I posted above and it was reading under 25% on the smart charger. It's charging up now and although it's only about 3 years old, I'll keep an eye on it.

    Thanks!
