what’s the best method to do this? I was going to get a ton of plastic from Home Depot and try to tape off half my truck before doing it. It’s going to be hard to keep the plastic from touching the sliders while it’s still wet though. Experiences? Suggestions?

I just tape newspaper to the truck behind and just above the sliders.

Who still gets a newspaper any more? ;)

But yeah, news paper is a little easier to work with, imo.

I ended up just using flat black plain Rustoleum. Nothing else would stick to the rust. And I didn’t care enough to sand off all the rust just to go scraping it down to bare metal again.

Most of us just use a small piece of cardboard in one hand to shield the truck and do small sections at a time.
