my truck has never done anything tough enough to brag about. just the usual firewood/motorcycle hauling. and driving back and forth to work, which in some circles is considered extreme duty

someday im sure ill do something stupid (tough) enough to post up in this here thread, my taco is still relatively new. just give it time

No but I did have a 500 pound gun safe sitting on the tail gate for about an hour and it did not bend or break it.

Went camping and loaded it down? Full load of firewood stacked up level with the top of the cab( strapped down), while towing a trailer with 3 wheelers, camping gear, etc... Yeah, my little 4 banger wasn't happy at all, especially with the mud tires.

Just normal motorcycle hauling and small trailer towing.

This is the most extreme off roading I've done. I know its not as extreme as some of you but I need this truck to last.

Yeah, we have some great off roading out here. That was about 20 miles from my house, most of which was trails/arroyos.

You are totally right. I hadn't realized this! Then again, I do not have such a cool pic as with the dirt stuff. With the water tank, the taco wanted to go everywhere the water went. In traffic lights I'd be bouncing back and forth the whole two minute wait time, lol.

It really amazes me, these trucks have been put through some really crazy tough situations, and they still hold. I have to say I consider my tacoma one of the better purchases I've done. I've been reading alot in this forum (notice this is my second post), and it is great. Taco owners are really smart people I guess!

Take care everyone and lets keep enjoying this awsome vehicle.

tonight, in northern colorado we are getting wet slushy and slippery snow, so for the past 3 hours i was out pulling people out of the ditches on both sides and in the middle of the highway, the most fun one was a gmc truck (90's gmc) that had slid all the way down the side of one of the ditches, i hooked up to him with a tow strap and a d-ring hitch, and pulled him out without an issue... it was so FUN!

You sure you aren't talking liters, cause I've had just under cubic yard of sand in the bed and the truck was on the bumpstops, and barely goin anywhere. Thats about half the weight of 600 gal.

I have right at 3.5 ton between the Truck and trailer of crushed rock. I drove about 12 miles back to the house. When I pulled across the scales at the rock yard the lady looked out the window and said that was a first for her to see a midsize truck with that much weight. I thought I should have shoveled it out but took the chance and drove home. Dont think I will do that again.

You've got to be the truck I've seen occasionally around Williamsport. In fact, just last week I think I saw you on the golden strip.

I towed a 1972 FJ40 home on a flatbed trailer, going from 5500 ft., down to sea level. Going up wasn't so bad. Coming down was an exercise in patience and engine braking.
