What touring or all season tires are people running and recommending. My truck came to me with Cooper Discoverer AT3's on it. I'm new to A/T tires, but they look a bit worn to me, and are probably due for replacement.

When I replace them this spring, I want to go more pavement oriented for increased mpg, and wet road traction. I'm just not going to be using the 4WD for much more than maybe getting out of snowy parking spaces etc.

Apologies if my searches and scrolling didn't turn up an answer. All discussion I found was about All Terrain. I'd love to drive around on BFG KO2's, but they just don't suit my needs or budget.

Also, please nevermind if it's preferred that these discussions only go in the wheels and tires subforum...

Look at the pathfinder sport S at from discount tire direct. I’ve run them on my wife’s highlander the last two tire sets. They are 60k mile rated with the “winter snowflake” on the side. She got 60k out of the first set and I put on a new set in November. I got them on a sale weekend for 70$ a piece with free replacement certificates. They are great for her 98% highway and 2% dirt road. Excellent wet/dry traction. I run the KO2’s on my truck, but for what you described they would be perfect.

I have Goodyear Wrangler Fortitude H/T tires on my truck. Its a good all season tire, I have no complaints in terms of traction, even did ok on some trails. Rain doesnt phase them either. Pricey, but you get good mileage and 65k out of them supposedly. gdyra4.ang.l.jpg

Besides that, my mom has BFG Long trail's on her car. Its a slightly more agressive all season tire. No complaints there either. mtarl4.ang.l.jpg

Defender Ltx or even the A/T Ltx, as it is not as aggressive as other A/T tires.

Anything Michelin is super high quality and comfortable

Dynopro ATM tires have a ton of tread, a penny almost completely disappears.

I get 100,000 plus miles on a set.

Never heard of Dynopro. Looks like they’d be okay in snow

Thank you for the suggestions. I’m off to read reviews. All of these look good.

My vote is Michelin AT2. I’d consider it more of a beefy “All Weather” tire instead of an “All Terrain” tire.

If you read into tread patterns and designs, and their functions it is interesting. At minimum you want the those pin stripe patterns down center for heavy water and rainy days

I’m at 38k and still have plenty tread on mine

Thanks Chrisp. I’m leaning towards a tire like that — less off road oriented than the current Cooper Discoverer AT3’s but not too much.

Tundra hyper-silver double 5-spokes with 265-70-17 BFG All-Terrains. Compact Cobra CB in the ashtray slot. Cut a small hole in the plastic and mounted the antenna to the drivers side windshield wiper mount using an old Harley Davidson blinker bracket. 1 1/4" drywall screw is holding door handle together nicely.
BFG Rugged Terrain. I got great gas, smooth ride and never a flat with them. Or.... If your on a tight budget and you're really never going rock climbing.... Dayton Timberline A/T, they are made by Bridgestone and $110 each.

I actually used to run with the Michelin AT2 tires before I switched
to the Hankook Dynopro ATM tires.
The AT2 tires are my 2nd choice and I would get 80,000 miles on a set.
The Hankook ATM has a MUCH deeper tread and Performed much better
in snow, slush and water for me.
Either one you can’t go wrong for a high mileage tire.
