Tow cap for 4 runner

I've been looking at 4 runners lately and am kinda in the dark about the towing capacity. I see some with tow hitches and some without but I'm being told by salesmen that they both can tow 5,000lbs.
It seems to me that if it has a factory installed hitch then it should have a "tow package" which means trans cooler, bigger alt, battery, and wiring.
Do 4 runners come with tow packages or is the hitch pretty much it?
I know I can add an aftermarket trans cooler but would rather have the Toyota reliability from factory parts.

What year 4runner? From what I understand in my limited amount of time learning about T4Rs is the 3rd gens have factory tow packages and the 3.4 is good for 5k. The 03+ v6 is good for 5k I believe and the 4.7 is 7k i think.

 

They are good for 5000lbs my 08 and now 11 have trans coolers on them from the factory. hope you find a good one! Our old 08 is setting on the toyota lot in barboursville wv with 77k on it if you live near wv.
