I have a light 14 aluminum boat and wondering if I really need to use the tow haul mode for such a light weight boat. It probably only weighs 800 with motor and gear. not a fan of it having to go 65 to get into the next gear when I only want to pull it 60 so I end up driving it to 65 then backing off to 60 to keep the rpms around 2000. If I slow to 58 it drops a gear and runs about 2600 at 55

I wouldn't bother for that weight

I tried tow/haul mode the other day pulling my 1500-pound camper and felt I had too much power –if that makes any sense.

If you notice it hunts for gears, use it. If it stays in the same gear and the torque converter stays locked up, no need.
