Tow hooks or loops

I thought about using another oem hook like the passenger side, but the way they designed it with the enlayed lip it can only work on passenger side. I am not going to do any snatch recoveries so I can get by with something not as heavy as you guys that are going to use winches. I just don't want to use shackles up front but I may have to.

 

Yes having a 3/4 shackle break loose would be bad. A Soft Shackle might be the answer. when I enlarged my hole on the stock point I also rounded the edges.

I may have to go that way. I was thinking maybe taking the hook and stock tie down point on driver side off, buying two heavier tie down points having them welded on and going with 1/2" shackles!
