Appreciate any guidance/help you wonderful peeps can provide. I have an 07 with the factory tow package. I have a tekonsha break system hooked up to it. I have been towing a horse trailer with the truck for 14 years with no issues. I am not sure if this is a 2 part issue or quick issue. My trailer brakes are not showing as connected on the brake controller. The trailer lights work no issue. I had a friend borrow the trailer and brakes worked for her so I think it is my truck. I have to look under the hood to see if fuses 9 or 5 are blown. Are there any other fuses to check or something else I should be looking into?

Second part is that my ABS light is on and has been for a while. Both a mechanic friend and toyota said it was too expensive to replace the sensor. This was never an issue before but could it be contributing now? Is it really that expensive to replace the sensors? Thanks!

It would be useful to know the ABS code(s) to give direction there.

Trailer brake system is pretty simple, check for power, ground, brake input and output at the brake control, if it's all good there check at the trailer plug.
If all checks out on the truck you have a problem on the trailer, if not you gotta see what your missing and go from there.

Thanks. Im not much of a mechanic. I mean I did install new headlights and fog lights myself w/ no help but when it comes to bigger items I rely on professionals. I can see if I can get the code on the ABS. Pretty sure its not the trailer or trailer plug since my friend used and it worked for her. I will see if I can get someone to test the power for me.
