Save even more doing to 48, but the payment goes up quickly once you get down there.

I hate making a payment on a vehicle after I'm wanting to replace it, but the main thing is being "upside down" can put you in a bad situation if it is totaled in an accident.

 

You did okay at 285/60, and you put in a good down payment.

big down payments gives a lil bit of lead way to stay ahead of the depreciation but ofcourse gotta keep in good condition and average yearly miles

Not always available.
I've only had it presented to me as an option on 2 loans.


And then in addition to paying more for the loan/vehicle, you're paying the premium on the Gap coverage

 

My experience has been as it is always an option. But yes there is a charge, but if u plan to wheel this thing, it can't hurt or u can use it to make truck disappear and have no consequences

 

some insurance companies now offer it as an add on feature (esurance in my case), so you may get a better deal for gap insurance tru you your insurance policy vs your loan bank or dealer...
