Hi all.Just bought a 2006 Double-cab V-6 TRD, and I'm wondering how to tell if it has the factory Tow Package.
It has the chassis hitch, and the 7 pin electrical box but those could have been added. Is there a way to tell for sure? I need the extra grunt to tow my Model A on it's trailer.

If it's an auto, it'll have auxillary tranny and engine oil coolers.

    And where are they located?
Basic question, I know, but it's my first Taco, and I'm still getting used to the undersides...

Sorry, there will be a smaller, secondary radiator in front of the main one. There will also be 2 lines just below the oil filter that are for the supplimental engine oil cooling.
    Engine oil cooling lines:

Slightly higher cranking amp battery, bigger alternator, engine oil cooler, transmission oil cooler. My truck does not have a towing package but i just put a reese class three reciever on it and i wouldn't be afraid to tow 5000lbs across the county but i wouldn't want to take it accross the country. A truck with the towing package only tows 6500lbs and i wouldn't be towing anything that heavy anyway...eventhough the truck absolutely WILL DO IT. You may want to check the owners manual and you may want to look at the hitch...if it says class IV AND you can see the oild coolers mentioned above, thn you can tow up to 6500lb.

If it is class III or II then it is 5000lbs or less. You may also want to invest in an aluminum trailer= SO MUCH WEIGHT SAVINGS lol. Good luck! Hope you love your truck and it serves you well!

And we have a winner! :)
I have the coolers shown. That gives me a lot more confidence that I can haul my 29 Model A pickup around without overloading the Taco, since the A only weighs about 2300 pounds.:D
