Tow straps vs Recovery Straps

    So the stump threads made me think of some interesting topics.

    Rather than starting a chain vs strap thread. I thought we could discuss the difference between tow straps and recovery straps.

    So for those who didn't know there is a difference. Tow straps tend to flex very little, usually have hooks, and are made for towing a vehicle that is maybe broken down on the side of the road.

    Recovery Straps typically flex and stretch a lot, usually DO NOT have hooks (because of the sling shot hazard), and are made for pulling out somebody stuck.

    I actually carry one of each in my Tacoma. I don't carry a chain currently but have thought of adding one to my inventory, they are very expensive though relatively speaking.
