Nah, I need a full script on the door. A "Little Mule" on my bronco, and a "Lil Girl" on my tacoma.

Theres the RC getting ready to haul a fluided and cast wheel rear tractor tire. Probably 1500 to 2000 pounds of stuff. It did it, but probably didnt enjoy it.

I guess I'm a bad person for using these trucks

    Spank me

I could not imagine towing with this truck. A good towing vehicle has good torque and this truck has no torque down low. Who voted for the high revving Camry engine?? Why did the 4runner keep the 4.0, and the taco didn't? Questions I have for Toyota.

6’x12’ 2200lb trailer weight with 4,780 payload cap and I know I had her way overweight the first time I drove her across the country! Been CO to NJ and back a few times dragging this box now. No issues with the auto trans or power under 65. She’s no diesel but she’s a beast!

Dude, the custom work is gonna cost you more... Let's just concentrate on towing that trailer up a hill first...

The max tow rating is normally under "optimal conditions". Probably not something shaped like a shoebox and probably not going 70mph up grades. But I think you're fine staying at 3100rpms constantly while you're towing. Shouldn't hurt anything. I normally cruise at +2500rpms while not towing. Terrible on gas I'm sure but that's how I drive. I almost never use 6th gear because when I hit an uphill I have to downshift and reset my cruise control. Basically I'm lazy.

Towing my 3600lb (GVWR) 19' travel trailer even with OVTune gearlock and intake/exhaust additions, my tacoma tows rather miserably. 10mpg with a tailwind, sloooooow going up long inclines. Never leave 4th gear unless going downhill or a STRONG tailwind.

Fully loaded tractor trailers zip right by me on long inclines, even low gradient inclines. It's often hard to maintain 55mph up long hills without revving 5000+ rpm's for extended periods. If I didn't love my taco so much I would get a diesel.

It's not so bad on trips under 4 hours.

Anyone regularly towing over 6000lbs in their taco is more than likely going to trash his truck and definitely going to spend a fortune on fuel.

There's a reason I attached two 3 gallon rotopax to the front of my trailer. (Can't see the other one).IMG_8667 copy.jpg

How does a regear help anything? You still need the rpms up to make the power. So now you can tow in 5th instead of 4th (at the same RPM) minus 2500 bucks?
