How are you going to keep the front wheels on the ground?

You’d be better using the tractor to tow the Tacoma

I guess you all don't live in farm country. That tractor is diesel not gas as was suggested. 6 miles will be less than a 1/2 hr trip. Don't need to strap "gas" to the tractor for the trip. Second of all, and I'm not condoning it, but pickups of all sizes from Rangers to 1 tons hook up to all sorts of wagons, trailers, and implements out here in the country and drag 'em down the road. They go slow and steady and there is never a problem. Ever see a 1/2 ton pulling not one but two anhydrous tanks? I have. Google what them puppies weigh when loaded sometime.

My point is the OP lives in a rural area. 6 miles is not far. Assuming he can get the tongue weight reasonable and he goes slow he will be fine.

You are the only one bringing up fuel. The OP didn't. The OP wanted opinions on hauling the tractor. Not fueling it.

Right, which is why I suggested driving it for transport. Because hauling it is stupid/unprofessional/unsafe with a Tacoma. Therefore, fuel would be a factor for transport and workload. Fuel consumption would be even more if he was actually using the PTO drive shaft instead of just raising and lowering the box blade in the rear and bucket in the front based on the configuration shown.

Nah theres just 2 places i would have to drive it to my house from is why i say distances. I'm in the middle of both. But 10mph is a long 4-6 miles for an hour job. I was also curious about weights and limits for both trucks. I was told on the dump trailer if we filled it with gravel we would approach 12 tons and definitely need CDLs and a much bigger truck. lts just all good info, thanks for y'all's input and information.

I did that the first month i got it when i got real stuck dragging logs in the rain playing with the locker. My wife was also 7 or 8 months pregnant at the time. She cant drive a stick too good so she was on tractor duty.20200321_105748.jpgIt is steeper and nastier than it looks i assure you. Also slid back to my 3-5 foot drop off on my shooting lane and wasn't ready to slide my truck into it ...

5K+ here easily on flat terrain. No problems. I have an air bag system that levels it out.

I've completely overestimated the situation. Do whatever you want for box blading a couple acres

How much does the tractor weigh? How much does the trailer weigh? What is the capacity of the trailer?

    Run the numbers...

Redline custom leather shift and e-brake boot. VFTUNE Super Full Otto cycle, octane learning, premium fuel.
Approx 7000 lb tractor, 800 lb box blade, 2000 lb trailer.
About a thousand pound tongue weight. More than likely no brake controller. If you tried to rent ours it would be a firm no, with the offer of delivery and pickup at 100 a hour of travel time.
That needs a 3/4 ton truck.

Does that box blade really weigh 800lbs? Not trying to internet flex but ive picked one end up to get the pins lined up in it!

It does have trailer brakes. I'm not sure of the standard protocol for these types of trailers.

Just to add or try to make everyone not be upset with another on the internet, I've seen enough no's that I am for sure not hooking it to my 3rd gen taco.

I don't know eight hundred pounds for sure man. I rent equipment for a living. That means I estimate load, and figure if something is safe everyday. I may be 1000 lbs off one way or the other but even then, it is just too much for safety. You could probably move it, you could probably stop it since you have brake controller. If some idiot pulled out and you hit them it would be bad. I hope you understand I am not downing you at all man. It was smart to ask. I am only offering my opinion. You are a grown man.

I understand and thanks for the input! I didn't think you were downing me at all. It's all interesting. I tried to open the post up with what i was generally wondering. Just a spitball wild ass estimate guess.
    Thanks for the information!

I always show this photo,ok, i'm damn proud of this truck. 6,000ish pounds up and down and back and forth through the Utah mountains. 6 miles on a flat Road? I would hook up to that sucker in a minute.

Let me warn Ya. At first it is gonna feel like "no way in hell" believe me. Keep going, power is between 4-6000 rpms. Plan your stops as best Ya can, lucky you don't have to go through Salt Lake on the 15 South...that's another story. But little by little you will gain confidence and start laughing out loud if you are like me.
