I think I'm going to only quote this one post... There are a lot of posts i want to quote in here but I don't feel like taking the time... Some guy talked about towing 6.8 Million pounds...

A lot of the towing complaints I see around here are posted without the towing speed. When prompted, most of fhe people say they are trying to tow near 75mph... This is unrealistic, especially with a 3.5 litre gas engine.

If the Tundra can tow the space shuttle then the Tacoma can at least tow a semi trailer. And it better do it uphill, both ways, in the snow, at 60+mph

Cheers! To all the Tacoma owners that tow, haul and use their truck for work... like Toyota trucks have always been designed for. Bottoms up to all those who respect quality and solid reliability. "Here's to us... who's like us..."

    Lots of sail boat fuel
20170603_180200.jpg 2700lbs loaded up. No issue towing. Most of the time in 4th on back roads. 5th in the flats. Comfortably pulls up hills in 3rd. And I'm in NH so i mean small mountains. Manual transmission.

Most trailer tires are rated at a MAX of 65 mph...going faster is courting disaster, or at least blown tires. Been there, done that, learned my lesson.

6" lifted truck, 34" tires, 4.88 gears, ~4,600 lb loaded 21' camper, two kayaks, two bikes, me, my wife, and a dog, 1,400 miles, no problems. Pulled awesome at 65. Fuel mileage was around 9-10, but it's only about 15 with the lift and tires.

TC temps never got above 230 and that was trying to maintain 60-65 on big grades. Pan temps right around 210. Still on the stock cooler with the thermostat pinned.
