Hi all! I am new here and am considering a 2000 tacoma.
looks like the towing cap is better than the 2006 GMC canyon i was looking at.
they have the same i4 engine, but i know nothing about towing except that I must have rear wheel drive for best towing.

any suggestions? I have a small 5x8 enclosed trailer I use to cart my wares to shows. I prefer a V8 but beggars cant be choosers....

they want $4900 for the Truck.

what could i expect to pay for a topper for the truck?

And what the heck does the 3.42 Axle Ratio mean?

I originally was looking at the sequioa, 7 passengers, lots of cargo space. But am not sure its in my budget...
So i started looking at the Tacoma..it would be literally my first pickup.
PS: i copied this from another thread, neverstruck suggested this locale to help me with my questions....

From my experience you would probably want a larger tacoma to tow your 5x8. Maybe a 1995-2004 tacoma 4x4 with a v6 engine. The truck that you are looking at would tow it but not happily.

    Hope this helps,
    Charlie

Thanks so very much, I really appreciate your input. What i want is the 2001 Sequoia, even if it isnt in the budget easily, lol. I think I am gonna stay with that choice.

I had my doubts about the 4 cylinder engine..and you just kinda put things in perspective for me. um, even if i dont buy the tacoma, can i stay here? :(

this is what I am leaning to

Tacoma is stock and staying that way, Pickup is TBA as of now.
Get a V6 for towing, no questions. Towing anything with a 4 banger sucks. I been there!
