Im moving to Tennessee for a job in January from California. I am new to owing and dont understand the dry weight or the GVWR, and how that factors in to the weight of the vehicle and its towing capacity. I will look deeper into forums and google to find out more. Thank you ahead of time.
I have a 2005 Tacoma sr5 TRD package with the towing hitch, v6 4.0L toyo open country a/t2 10 tread.
The trailer im looking at is something like this: https://chico.craigslist.org/trb/5868483015.html
    2,400 lbs GVWR

I think... I wont have any problems hauling my stuff as its a smaller trailer, am I wrong to believe so?

Canopy, fitted seat covers, OBA with self leveling air bags, 100w solar, dual Rhino Rack Pioneer platforms, side & rear LED work/FU lights, CB, cell booster. 7x16 cargo conversion, 3" lift, 7'x6.5' fold down aluminum rear deck.
Dry weight (or shipping weight) is te weight of the trailer itself ready to go down the road as it was built with nothing else in or on it.
GVWR for the trailer is the maximum the trailer is rated for. That includes the weight trailer itself and anything you put in it. So if the trailer is rated for 2400 lbs, and has a dry weight of 1200lbs, the max cargo it is designed to carry is 1200lbs.
Check out the towing bible for good info.

A trailer that size, you'll be fine. Just make sure to properly load it for tongue weight. Remember, heavy stuff on the bottom.

I towed a trailer like that to camp a few times with an 09 4 banger, she did ok, wasn't happy but did ok. You should be fine with the v6. I would just balance the load as much as possible trying to keep bulk of weight over the wheels.

Shouldn'tIMG_20160813_072014614.jpg be an issue. I tow something similar often.
