Ok, so I searched on this topic and didn't find anything direct. I just bought my 2016 TRD Off Road MT. I plan on towing a small cargo trailer, maybe flatbed with my 1930 Buick on it and maybe someday a very small travel trailer. I would like to see some experiences with towing here (auto or manual). I am concerned that the lack of torque in our 3.5 L engine......Overall I like the truck, but like others I feel that it is sluggish in the low RPM range. I am aware that full sized trucks with diesel engines are better, but I can't afford to have just a tow vehicle and a daily driver. I don't want to drive those behemoths around daily anymore. This truck is big enough.....

I wouldn't want to flat bed a classic car on this truck. I flatbedded my 1968 Pontiac GTO with my 6500lb+ GMC Sierra Denali and I'll tell you it felt like a lot of weight back there when I had to apply the brakes.

Could you get it going? Sure. Could you stop it very well? Doubtful. I think you're putting yourself, your vehicles and others at unnecessary risk.

Agreed with smitty. I'm sure it can do it, but stopping it is a whole new beast. I tow my travel trailer, weights around 2100-2200 dry, with no problem. I can tell it's back there for sure and the trailer has brakes so that helps, but a flat bed trailer with a car.....I probably wouldn't do that often and def not far if I did. Keep in mind you'll be lucky to get in the double digits on mpg doing that as well. My travel trailer is a hard sided popup, so it folds down nicely. I'm lucky to get 15 with it folded down.

Thanks guys. I really did search with keyword towing. I didn't get any return of a whole thread.

Thanks for the info about towing a classic car. I thought it would be easier than an enclosed trailer. I would think you could get an open trailer wuth brakes.

Even though th 30 Buick is a coupe it still weighs over 4000 pounds. I have driven it long distances (St. Louis to Colorado Springs and back) but I won't do that again. Beyond a couple hundred miles I want to trailer this one. Maybe the wrong truck for this, but I didn't buy this truck to do much towing
