    Hello,

I have a 2013 DCSB TRD Sport with the factory towing package and I am having trouble getting power to the trailer connector outlet on the rear of the truck.

I discovered this issue when I rented a U-Haul and none of the trailer lights would work when plugged in. They worked in the past and now I'm not sure where to look.

Has anyone had this problem or does any one have any suggestions of what to look at or try to fix it?

    Thanks.

I'm thinking you must have the factory 7 pin "RV" type of receptacle down under the bumper? It has a pigtail connecting to the main harness along behind the bumper toward the Driver Side taillight.

Look for damaged or disconnected wiring. This photo doesn't show them well - but I pulled them out when I moved the 7 pin socket up into the bumper.DSCN0232.jpg Trailer Socket.jpg
There are threads to be found on here that show the plug connections to the main harness and how to disconnect them.

Also, check that one of the pins in the plug is not bent over. This can easily happen

Since NONE of the lights are working, I am guessing you have a bad ground. If one of the wires was bad, the rest should still work.

The uhaul trailer probably had a short in the wiring. Check your fuse before you start chasing wires.

Question is, which fuses should I be looking over? That was the first thing I did and didn't see any bad fuses but I could have missed one...

This happened to me once. A Uhaul trailer had a short and it popped a fuse in my truck. Upon further inspection I found the wires on the trailer were frayed and touching each other.
