    Hi guys,
im relatively new to owning this tacoma. Last august, I purchased a new 2014 tacoma 4 door, 4.0, automatic. It has the factory towing package with the 7 prong plug. I recently bought a 14ft lowe jon boat.

My owners manual doesn't say anything about what gear to tow in.

It has low,2,3,4,and D on the shifter, but no OD OFF SWITCH! ?

I've always drove fords and Chevy and they all had OD off switches.

Should I just tow in 4? (It runs very high rpm) .

May sound like a dumb question. A friend of mine had a 2013 that had an OD off switch beside the A-Trac switch. Did they do away with that in the 14's.

    Thanks

I left my in drive and just took it easy and eased into everything. Had no problem except my mpg was shot in the face. I have the 2015 4.0 auto so similar trucks.

4 is exactly the same as other makes OD off switch.

...and yes, you generally should tow in 4th.

Unless they changed the manual it says to tow in 4.
