I will need to tow some in the future. The larger trailers will be small/medium enclosed trailers for up to say 1000 miles. After getting everything figgered out for them, small jon boat and utility trailers will be a breeze. I've towed up to maybe 14'-16' trailers a few times though I have no experience setting up a rig for towing.

I won't need AT tires because my truck is for the daily drive and work only. I have a v6 SR5 DCLB with dealership 245/75/16 Toyo A31 Open Country tires with 1500 miles on them. I will get live human help with hitches etc before towing begins but to start getting ready, what towing tires should I be looking at?

For that weight stock tires are all you need.

We have a fleet of pickups at work and we run Michelin Defender LTX on all of them once the dealer tires wear down. They are quiet, robust, great in the rain, OK in the snow, fuel efficient, and last forever. Highly recommended.

what kind of weight are the trailers?

stock tires should be fine for anything like that. hell i towed a 5000 pound travel trailer with a box stock 2017 DCLB offroad and it was steady as hell. its all about loading properly and the right equipment. h used a WDU with anti sway built in. stay within your payload rating (probably not much if any more then 900 pounds) and max tow rating and you'll be fine.

A few OE parts from fancy trucks
Part of the tow rating the vehicle has from Toyota takes the OE tires into consideration.

Therefore, you don't 'have' to have more tire to tow, staying within those bounds.

    I like @Stocklocker's suggestion.

Good to know the stock tires will suffice, was unsure about the load rating needed. I'll be hauling household items and furniture, but the amounts are not known as of now so the trailer size is not known yet either. I'll be sure to stay within the limits.
