    Idk, what your issue was, but my tacoma tows just fine bone stock. I got 19 mpg towing my 2k lb boat, or my loaded 5x10 utility trailer.

    It was the gear hunting of the automatic trans that was driving me nuts! The truck couldn’t decide what gear it wanted to be in, and it was even worse when climbing hills.

    If I use a few tankfuls of 92 or higher octane fuel, my truck starts doing the same. I can see your point.
