Towing Package

i got a 2018 toyta base model. mine didnt come with towing package, just wondering where to get the right wiring harness/kit for it..

 

If it was ME, I would have Toyota install that stuff. Not cheap, but done right.

 

Welcome . If you go to a local hitch installation place (not uhaul) they should have what you need. They can probably do it for you at a reasonable price too.

Be mindful of how much you will be towing. The factory tow package comes with a trans cooler(automatics), so keep in mind you won't have that.

 

He's right. If your "base model" is a 4 cylinder SR, you are limited to 3500# gross trailer weight.

If you're comfortable working with electrical than you should be able to do it. If not, it shouldn't cost too much for a local hitch shop to do it. If you go that route you can have them install the7 and 4 pin connector that goes on the bumper. That will make it look like the OEM that comes with the tow package. Also, if your truck is an auto then you might want to consider adding a transmission oil cooler too. Like @JNG said, keep in mind that your max towing weight is 3500 lbs.

 

Go to Etrailer and check out the hitch options and wiring harness options. Etrailer has damn good how to videos as well. Watch them.
