Thanks for your information. The reason I enquire is that I want to purchase a 3rd generation Tacoma and tow a trailer approx. 3500 lbs and utilizing the towing package. I'm debating whether to purchase manual or automatic . Assuming the manual has no transmission oil cooler which would be best for towing, automatic or manual , V-6 motor of course. Thanks in advance for you advice

Manual transmissions don't really need a cooler as long as your running a quality fluid and not overloading them, automatics generate alot of heat due to the torque converter and running fluid under pressure and as such need a cooler especially when towing.
3500 lbs is well under the Tacoma's tow rating with a tow package so auto or manual you should be fine just get what you prefer to drive.

There’s no difference in tow capacity between a manual and auto tranny. Get which ever one you prefer to drive. I’ve driven manual most of my life but I currently prefer an auto for every day and towing.
