Towing a 3000lb travel trailer fully loaded, do I need LT tires or would P series be safe? Trailer has electric brakes and I have installed a brake controller and a weight distributing hitch. Don't plan on doing any real off-roading just maybe some gravel roads every once in awhile.

I have a 2009 V6 4x4 SR5 DC LB and plan on upgrading from stock Dunflops?

    Thanks

That means you should have a max weight of around 300 pounds on the tongue. "P" tires should be fine weight wise as long as you are not loading the bed of the truck. The problem would be the side to side movement causing heat and undue stress on the sidewalls. You will most likely wear them out faster if you do much pulling.. Here is an articled on what you are talking about. http://www.tirerack.com/tires/tiretech/techpage.jsp?techid=70

no problem with P tire for towing that trailer. I pull ~5000 lb. travel trailer with the P's. I pump up the rears to 39-40 lbs. (cold) and that helps firm up the sidewalls some.
