towing tacoma behind uhaul

    ive got a few questions since ive never had to tow my truck before. im moving to colorado, thats why i need to tow (dont want to spend gas on a box truck and the tacoma)

    my truck is a 4x4 dcsb

    according to the uhaul website, a full car trailer (pictured below) will fit the wheelbase requirements of a tacoma, but im not sure if ill actually be able to procure one. this is my best option, but again, i have to actually be able to get one.

    if thats not an option, this is option #2...

    if i have to use this^^^^, are there any special things i need to do to prevent damage to the truck? do i tow it rear end on the trailer or front end? does the truck need to be in neutral?(auto trans)

    anything would be helpful because ive never used a shitty dolly before.

    If you don't so option 1 I think you can do option 2, but not sure. It needs to be rear wheels up, but if you're 4x4 I don't know if you can do it without a lever shifter and manual hubs

    may have to remove the driveshafts for option 2. Not 100% sure but read the manual in the taco and it will tell you how it can be towed.

    Option #1 would be best.
    If you have to go with option #2, tow it front forward and disconnect the rear drive shaft. Leave it in the transfer case so you don't spill lube all over and properly secure it the the bottom of the truck to keep it from falling out.
    Option #3 - have a shipping company move it for you.

    disconnect it at the rear diff right? and leave everything else connected?
