Hi, I have a 2016 Tacoma TRD crew cab V-6 and I want to tow a boat with the truck bed camper in. I have upgraded this truck with Nitro gears, 2021 Bilstein shocks (no lift) Rear air bags. Boat weights 4300 (converted hydraulic to electric tandem axle disc brakes x 4) Palomino camper in bed weighs 1100. Bad idea??? I need a weight distribution hitch and auxiliary brake controller? What brand do you recommend. See pic attached/dif. boat now
** Or should I buy a bigger truck??

Bigger truck. Camper alone is pretty much at the limit, add in people and a boat and you’re over.

Bigger truck, and skip over 1/2 tons and go straight to a 3/4 ton.

Just the camper alone puts you about 200lbs over the truck's rated payload. Add people, food, water, supplies etc and you're pushing 1000lbs over the truck's weight limit before hitching the trailer.

    Debadged, black sumos, brake controller.
Agree with that. And if you believe you will get a bigger camper because you'll have a bigger truck (like my father in law thought, the 8 foot bed one that hang at the back), you'll have to go one ton or do like him and never drive it anywhere because it sucks.
