Have family emergency(brother diagnosed with cancer)where I have to get a honda civic from Oregon to calif. Approx 1000 miles. I know i could look up towing capacity of my truck but I was looking for real world knowledge from people who have towed with there rigs. I dont want to hurt my rig. So you guys think it will handle it with out damage. I have a 2014 tacoma double cab 4x4 sr5 short bed with the 4.0. Automatic 90k miles level kit and 265 75 16 tires and all maintenance is done. Honest opinions please. Thank you in advance.

Not sure how much everything weighs, but uhaul trailers are on the stout side. figure out how much everything is going to weigh

Trailer with brakes is a must

monitor trans temp with torquepro app for android and bluetooth reader

don't use overdrive and learn what torque converter unlock feels like. Unlocked converter for too long will heat up trans temp

As an option. There are many car/truck/motorcycle shippers.

I used a motorcycle shipper to transport my '81 Honda CX500C from NC to IA. Cost was about $600. I couldn't buy fuel, rent trailer, road food, hotels for that little. More cost effective to have it shipped. It took 3 days to arrive.

Don't deal with the "low bidder" type shippers. Use a shipper with vehicle shipping as their primary business.

God Speed for your brother and your family.
