I will be looking at the double cab, would it still do good in that configuration? I’m more sold on the reliability of the 2.7 over the extra power of the V6, as long as it gets me where I need to go and it can get to the speed limit.

Well just in time for this thread .....
Today one of my F350 duallies had a high pressure fuel pump go out about 5 miles from the "shop" my garage it was either a $210 tow truck bill or hook a strap to the tow hook and have the yota pull it

Slow and easy first and second gear no trying to break anything on purpose it did amazing for a 4 banger never exceding 25mph

Duallie fully loaded with equip ladders and tools

Temp guage never even moved from normal and a/c blew cold

So the lesson here is it will tow quite a bit of weight under emergency conditions :anonymous:

My 2.7 towed my boat to the lake all summer fairly well. Never had trouble getting it in and out of the water. Towing the uhaul over the grapevine in California was another story. Flat ground 2.7 does fine, but any significant grade I’d reconsider.
