Awesome, thanks. And, for the hood/bug guard, how are you liking it? Probably going to grab one soon.

It’s a harness with wires that plugs into the stock 4WD ECU. A member used to make them on here.

For the cost and ease of installation I think it’s a no brainer.:)

I use mine even when backing up unladen uphills, just saves the clutch. Aaaand you get the chance to cycle the actuator.:)

I don't know if you are planning on towing 6000 lbs on a regular basis, but I would be looking for something bigger. You will be buying a new clutch on a regular basis.

Popping this back up as spring is coming and the 2Lo is a mod I would use a LOT. Anyone know of someone around Indianapolis that could install it? Might not be hard but time is an issue. Thanks

I would say install is like an hour. I could personally do it in about 10 minutes now because of how many times I’ve torn apart the dash in that area. If time is really so tight that you can’t spare an hour or two, you could probably find someone nearby from the forum to do it for you.

Agreed. To add to your post.... the automatic has the ability to lock and unlock the torque converter. When the converter is locked an auto operates like a manual in that the flex plate and the output shaft are 1:1. When the converter is unlocked, massive amounts of heat are generated in the converter whilst under load because of fluid coupling. The engine transfers power through a series of turbines which compress (move) the ATF which then turn the output shaft. Heat is generated as a byproduct of this transfer. MASSIVE heat if you are at a mechanical disadvantage (overdrive gears, going up hill, pulling a load). You do not have this issue in a manual as your foot on the clutch is the only coupling device between the engine and the transmission. You don't have the ability to lock and unlock a torque converter and you don't have to worry about the heat generated with fluid coupling because there is no fluid coupling.

Your concerns are the same as any manual trans driver: rev matching, don't slip/burn the clutch etc., keeping the taco in the proper rpm range (don't lug it up hills), etc.

if there was a video showing me how, I could probably do it. I am NOT a car/truck guy, so that knowledgebase is not in my head. Thanks
