What about one of the Coleman pop up trailers or is that what you're saying is too cramped?
Edit-looked up the jfx213 and the Coleman is way tiny by comparison, never mind.

Trust me I'd have a tiny trailer that pulled with ease if my wife wasn't such a stickler.

Well, I made it to California. Trailer pulled great, and the trip went pretty smooth overall. Wind was a pain at times from North Dakota through California. But the Andersen WDH kept the trailer sway to pretty much zero throughout the trip. Ran about 11,600lbs plus a few with my brother, dog, myself and the truck/trailer loaded down. Stuck in 4th gear around 60-65mph for the most part. Had some long steep hills, or windy areas where we held 50-60mph in 3rd gear. Mountain passes went pretty solid in 2nd gear around 35-40mph. The enclosed trailer created too much drag and kept us out of 5th except on a few long down hill sections, we weren't blessed with any sweet tailwind.

Word of caution for anyone towing a trailer through Donner Pass over the Sierras. Bring chains for your rear axle and a set for a trailer axle if you think there is any possibility of snow on the pass. Played stop and go traffic for about 45 minutes up the mountain just to get turned around, despite the numerous signs saying "4x4 and snow rated tires ok". Which I have both, but I've never been through there, so I'll take the blame on that one.

Overall the trip was a success, and the Firestone bags/Andersen WDH worked well with each other. Once you find the sweet spot running both systems, it rides incredibly well for so much weight in a little pickup truck

Glad the trip went well. Be careful towing as the speed limit here is 55 w/trailer even when it's posted 65. It's not about how fast you can go but how safely you can stop and how much more side winds affect towing at higher speeds. Traffic lanes on some of the older bridges tend to be narrower.
